Welcome to Storying Sex, a podcast about queer sexual health and digital technologies. In this first episode, Drs. McKinley Green and Wilfredo Flores talk with Dr. Andrew Spieldenner (he/him) about what it means to be queer and healthy in today's connected, social media-based world. Topics range from HIV surveillance on social media, teaching with pornography, and what public health gets wrong.

Spieldenner is an associate professor of communication at California State University San Marcos. He is a community-engaged researcher, activist, and organizer primarily within the HIV community, and he’s also worked for three decades at several non-profit and government organizations, including the Latino Commission on AIDS, Black AIDS Institute, and the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. He is the executive director of Executive Director of MPACT: Global Action for Gay Men's Health & Rights.
